About us
Blocked Drains Auckland exists because too many drainage callouts end with a cleared pipe, an invoice, and no idea why it blocked in the first place.
Blocked Drains Auckland is a mobile drainage service covering the Auckland region. We clear blocked drains, run CCTV surveys, hydro-jet lines that need scouring rather than poking, cut roots, and repair or reline pipe that has failed. Residential, rental, body corporate and commercial.
We are a service-area business. There is no shopfront and no counter to visit — the van comes to the property, which is where the drain is.
A blocked drain has two separate questions inside it. What is blocking it right now? and why did it block? Most callouts only answer the first. The drain runs again, everyone is happy, and eight months later the same pipe blocks in the same spot.
That is not always someone being dishonest. Clearing a drain is fast and visible; finding the cause takes a camera, time, and a willingness to tell a customer that the real fix is more expensive than the one they rang up for. But if a drain has blocked before, the second question is the one that matters, and we would rather have that conversation than sell you the same clear four times.
Sometimes the honest answer is that nothing needs doing. A minor root at a joint on a drain that has never actually blocked is worth keeping an eye on, not excavating. We say that too.
In New Zealand, installing, altering or repairing sanitary drainage is restricted work. It has to be carried out or supervised by someone licensed by the Plumbers, Gasfitters and Drainlayers Board. Clearing a blockage is not restricted — a homeowner may legally do that themselves, provided they do not alter or repair the inspection or ventilation pipe — but repair work is.
That distinction matters when you are choosing who to call, and it is worth knowing that you can check any licence on the Board’s public register yourself, free, in about thirty seconds. Ask to see the card. Anyone doing this properly will expect you to.
Drainage work also has to comply with the New Zealand Building Code — Clause G13 for foul water and Clause E1 for surface water.
Across the Auckland region: the North Shore, West Auckland, Central Auckland, East Auckland and South Auckland, from Silverdale down to Pukekohe. See the full list of suburbs we cover.
If the blockage is on the public wastewater main, Watercare attend at no charge to you. We would rather lose the job than bill you for clearing a drain that was working fine.
Call and describe it. We will tell you what it probably is and what it should cost, whether or not you book anything.
