Central Auckland · 24/7 callout
Drain clearing, camera surveys and repairs across Remuera — and an honest answer about whether the blockage is even yours to pay for.
Blocked Drains Auckland provides drain unblocking, CCTV drain surveys, hydro-jetting, tree root removal and drain repair throughout Remuera, Central Auckland. Large villas and bungalows from the early 1900s through the 1930s, on generous sections. Drainage here is typically glazed earthenware and concrete, jointed, much of it original to the house. Emergency callout operates 24 hours, 7 days, and we give you a price before work starts.
Remuera combines the two things that cause the most drainage trouble in Auckland: old jointed pipe and an exceptional mature tree canopy. Large sections mean long private laterals, often running the length of a deep site beneath established gardens, mature specimen trees and — frequently — a concrete or cobbled driveway. That last detail matters more than people expect, because it is reinstatement rather than pipework that drives repair costs here.

Local conditions
Deep sections mean long runs, and decades of established planting along the whole length of them.
A fault under a lawn is straightforward. The same fault under a concrete driveway, a tiled terrace or a mature garden is a much larger number — which is where relining frequently wins.
Many established Remuera trees are protected. Removing the tree is often neither available nor effective; sealing the pipe is the practical route.
Everything below is available across the Central Auckland area, from a single blocked gully through to a relined lateral.
Before you pay anyone
It is worth thirty seconds, because it decides who pays. Everything on your side of the point of supply — internal plumbing, the gully trap outside, and the private lateral out to the connection — is the property owner’s. The public wastewater main is Watercare’s, and they clear blockages on it at no cost to you.
If wastewater is surfacing in the street, or neighbouring Remuera properties have the same problem on the same day, ring Watercare on (09) 442 2222, option 1, before you call a plumber. If only your property is affected, it is almost certainly the private lateral — and that is us.
Sealing the pipe rather than removing the tree, in almost every case. Roots enter through an existing defect, so relining the affected section removes the pathway and keeps the tree. Auckland Council administers tree protection through the Unitary Plan and many established Remuera specimens are scheduled, so removal may not be available to you in any case.
Rarely because of the pipe. It is the reinstatement — concrete driveways, tiled terraces, established landscaping and mature root protection zones all cost real money to open up and put back properly. That is precisely why relining, which works through existing access points, so often comes out cheaper here despite a higher headline rate.

Non-urgent work is usually within 1–2 working days. For an active overflow we aim to attend the same day, and our emergency callout runs 24 hours, 7 days including public holidays. Response time depends on where you are and how many jobs are already running — we will give you an honest window.
You get a price before any work starts, not an invoice afterwards. Call and describe the symptoms and we will give you a realistic range over the phone; the firm price is confirmed on site once we can see the access and the drain. See our Auckland cost guide for the ranges.
Tell us what it is doing and we will tell you what it probably is, what it takes to fix, and what that should cost.
